Know the Advantages and Lack of Black Shark 2 Pro

As if not satisfied with Black Shark 2, yesterday Black Shark launched another variant of a higher gaming smartphone with the name Black Shark 2 Pro.

Not only is the name and design a little different, but this new smartphone is also getting improvements on various sides, so it is expected to provide a more “pro” gaming experience.

However, has this gaming smartphone become truly perfect? The answer is certainly no. This gaming smartphone has advantages and disadvantages when compared to similar smartphones or smartphones in the same price range.

The advantages of Black Shark 2 Pro

1. Responsive Screen

The responsive screen is the main attraction of Black Shark 2 Pro. With responsive screen support, players can control characters or objects in the game more smoothly, thus allowing them to win the game.

Although offering the same screen size as Black Shark 2, which is 6.39 inches, Black Shark 2 Pro has 34.7ms touch latency – smaller than Black Shark 2 which is only 43.5ms – so it can be more responsive when used.

2. Don’t Ask Performance

Following in the footsteps of the ASUS ROG Phone 2, this new device already uses the Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset, which offers a rather significant improvement compared to the Snapdragon 855. GSMArena marks the increase occurring on both the GPU and CPU sides.

In addition to offering the capabilities of the god chipset, Black Shark 2 Pro also offers UFS 3 technology support in its storage memory. This support is similar to SSDs on computers, which can speed up the process of data transfer.

3. The camera is quite adequate

As a gaming smartphone, camera support can indeed be the umpteenth time criteria. But Black Shark 2 Pro is not half-hearted in this regard. This device is technically equipped with a pretty decent camera.

In the main camera, Xiaomi has buried a dual camera with a configuration of 48 MP (f / 1.75) + 13 MP (f / 2.2). While on the front camera, Xiaomi has buried a 20 MP camera (f / 2.0).

4. Competitive Prices

The most interesting, despite having the same chipset support as ROG Phone 2, this one device has a relatively very cheap price. When the cheapest ROG Phone 2 variant is priced around Rp. 7.15 million, the Black Shark 2 Pro is priced at around Rp. 6.1 million.

Lack of Black Shark 2 Pro

1. Screen Not Really Gaming

Actually, Black Shark 2 Pro already offers pretty good screen support. Aside from offering Super AMOLED technology (due to in-display fingerprint support), this device also has DCI-P3 Color Gamut and DC Dimming 2.0 support, and 240 Hz touch response rate.

But even so, the screen of the Black Shark 2 Pro, unfortunately, does not support the 120 Hz refresh rate, which has been carried by other gaming smartphones such as the Razer Phone. In addition, the screen also does not yet support HDR10 technology.

2. Normal Battery Support Only

To spoil gamers, the 4,000 mAh battery seems pretty standard and even tends to be lacking. In my opinion, even though it is supported by a chipset that is more power-efficient, its power consumption will rise when we use the device to play games.
